Immigrant Services Calgary is hiring for the full-time role of Volunteer Developer to develop and deliver effective and appropriate training of volunteers while supporting the general coordination of the Volunteer Program. The Volunteer Developer will be an integral part of the Volunteer Team supporting over 1500 volunteers. 
 
Duties:
• Assist with the recruitment, screening, onboarding and placement of volunteers according to service demands and immigration trends.
• Facilitate volunteer orientation and core training sessions.
• Facilitate specialized soft skills training sessions according to the needs of communities 
• Develop and deliver volunteer training modules as needed.
• Enhance recruitment and placement of volunteers through targeted outreach. 
• Identify emerging needs and service gaps in communities.
• Work in collaboration with community partners on volunteer placement initiatives and special projects
• Support the implementation of new volunteer management strategies to increase corporate volunteer engagement.
• Participate in community events and build relationships in the community
• Develop and deliver cross-cultural presentations to ethno-cultural groups, community organizations, mainstream service providers and the corporate sector
• First point of contact for internal and external volunteer requests.
• Ensure agency and volunteer needs are being met through effective volunteer placement.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of volunteer placements through follow-up with volunteers and staff.
• Review and update volunteer policies. 
• Collaborate positively and effectively with all volunteers and volunteer team members.
• Create and administer volunteer satisfaction surveys and workshop evaluations.
• Responsible for volunteer database management.
• Assist in the organization and coordination of volunteer recognition events and activities.
• Assist with the preparation of monthly program reports and proposals.
• Assist in developing new partnerships between the volunteer program and partner agencies.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor
 
Qualifications:
• Degree or diploma in Social Sciences, Communications, Education or Volunteer Management.
• Experience working with volunteer programs is preferred.
• Strong experience with volunteer coordination and management in non-profit teams.
• Experience with volunteer management systems including Salesforce.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Strong organizational skills, effective time management and prioritization skills. 
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in interactions with all volunteers and staff. 
• Ability to work effectively in a team while establishing strong, collaborative working relationships.
• Cross cultural sensitivity.
• A second language is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Available to work some evenings and weekends.
