Job Summary:

The Cloud/System Administrator is responsible for investigating, designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining a mission critical cloud infrastructure for MCAN. He/she is also be providing 2nd and 3rd level technical support for all MCAN IT Infrastructure including internal and cloud-based systems.
The CA will be responsible for evaluating and recommending necessary changes in performance tuning and monitoring of the entire network and server infrastructure systems used by MCAN.

The Cloud/System Administrator would participate in all aspects of system integrations, with direct accountability for analysis, design and implementation. Contributes to the overall quality of the application delivery by sharing subject matter expertise with business partners and other IT team members. 

What you will be responsible for:

  • Administer, plan, implement, troubleshoot and maintain cloud infrastructure and services on the Microsoft Azure platform.

  • Solve infrastructure related issues and assist for the problem analysis, documentation, resolution, as well as any project work as required.

  • Organizing and participating in infrastructure/network design reviews with other team members as required

  • Develop best practices for the Azure cloud optimization for MCAN to help improve its cloud and security footprint

  • Establishing and maintaining accurate working records and documents in line with company standards and procedures

  • Developing test strategy/approach and test cases to align with business requirements and
    execute as required

  • Providing system administration and troubleshoot including performance tuning, access control
    and upgrades that affect all cloud or in-house environments

  • Working closely with varying business units, other IT team members to support change management for the planning, managing, and implementation of patch releases and other
    changes to production

  • Follow and enforce IT policies, and assist users of standards and methodologies

  • Participating in routine Security/IT audits and remediation of any vulnerabilities/exploits
    while minimally impacting production environment

The work experience, skills, education that you bring:


  • A BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Gather customer requirement and use this information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements

  • Strong communication skills that can translate between the business and IT resources

  • Must be able to visualize/create Network diagrams for proposed solutions

  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solution

  • Experience with conducting root cause analysis on major incidents, coordinating and executing follow-up actions

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work within tight deadlines


  • A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in a Cloud/Systems Admin support role

  • Hands on experience with Azure Infrastructure compute, storage, disaster recovery, monitoring, backup and network management

  • Strong hands on experience with VMWare and VCenter

  • Working experience with Office 365 including configuration, and administration

  • Expert knowledge of Identity and Access Management

  • Must have good understanding of Azure foundation and Network components like Express route, S2S VPN, Network Security Groups (NSG) and Application Security Groups (ASG).

  • Strong knowledge of Commvault backup solution in Azure environment

  • Very good understanding of Cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services

  • Working knowledge of Checkpoint Firewall security or Next Gen firewalls is an asset
