Position Summary

The Meter Specialist will join the MSI Operations Engineering and Quality Management System team in Markham, Ontario.

This position is part of the Metergy Solutions Engineering Team which is responsible for integrating new products and processes within the sub-metering business unit. This position is ideal for Entry-Level Engineers looking to start their careers in the energy or metering industry.


Accountabilities:

 

•Analyze electrical and mechanical drawings to provide guidance and support on sub-metering system design principles for Electricity, Water, Gas and Thermal services

•Prepare quotations for the Sales and Installations departments based on metering designs and equipment requirements for new business opportunities

•Produce Engineering Reports focusing on outlining challenges and providing solutions for current and new products, practices and processes

•Provide technical support for all currently supported metering equipment and software applications

•Evaluate existing methodologies and processes and seek continuous improvement opportunities

•Evaluate new and existing 3rd party products and applications, prepare technical support documentation for relevant departments

•Provide technical training and support to field technicians

•Other technical tasks as required


Qualifications:

 

•University degree in Engineering or post-secondary education in a relevant technical field

•2-3 years of experience working with electrical and mechanical schematics

•Proficient in electrical and mechanical systems in Residential and Commercial buildings

•Good technical and "hands-on" aptitude

•Knowledge of metering technologies and Measurement Canada regulatory requirements

•Proficiency in MS Office tools including Project, Excel and Visio, VBA is an asset

•Strong project management and problem solving skills

•Detail-Oriented and meticulous

•Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills

•Team player with positive attitude and focus on results

•Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and associated regulations, Infrastructure Health & Safety Association (IHSA), EUSA rulebook and safe work procedures

•Must have access to a vehicle and hold a valid G license.
