Hours:                                 Monday – Friday (6:00apm – 3:00 pm)

experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations. We are looking for a highly capable
Apprentice Paint & Prep Technician to be located out of our Markham location in Ontario.

 

Miller Waste Systems is looking for an Apprentice Paint & Prep Technician with 2+ years of experience in the body preparation and paint industry and with 2+ years of painting and body repair experience. A collaborative but strong nature is essential, and the applicant’s background
in parts and maintenance and the transportation industry will allow them to succeed and grow within Miller Waste.

 

Responsibilities:

In the position of Apprentice Paint & Prep Technician, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing trucks and bins for paint

  • Removal and installation of any necessary parts

  • Washing and degreasing of equipment and trucks

  • General body work

  • Masking, sanding and filling

  • Installing decals and pinstriping

  • General house keeping duties

 

Requirements:

The successful applicant will be comfortable with prioritization, planning, coordination, and organization, with an ability to respond and adapt in changing, high pressure environments. This individual will be able to assess problem situations, recognize issues, and use judgment to create solutions that meet required standards.

  • Successful candidates must possess and keep valid a minimum G class valid driver’s license.  DZ Class Drivers license will be considered an asset

  • Must be enrolled or have the
    ability to enroll into the 410N Automotive Painter Apprenticeship program.

  • Minimum of 2 years experience doing body work.

  • Previous welding experience an asset

  • Must have own tools

  • Ability to operate a forklift in a safe manner

  • Must be a team player

  • You must be available to work late when needed, as well you may be required to work weekends and holidays. 

Flexibility
is also required as this position occasionally requires travel, early starts, late finishes and, on rare occasions, weekend work.
